Partnership Manager

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, a national center for the production, presentation, development, and study of the American Theater, seeks an experienced candidate for the Partnership Manager position within our Community Engagement Division.

The Partnership Manager actively seeks out, recruits, manages and retains partners/customers for income-generating CE programming at Arena Stage, including Camp Arena Stage, Voices of Now, Moving Stories, community outreach workshops, and residencies. To manage budgets, invoices, contracts and payments generated through partnerships. To teach/direct/devise and/or provide teaching assistance for all Community Engagement programs as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement/Senior Artistic Advisor and the Director of Education, and to provide overall administrative support for the Community Engagement Division.


  • Work with schools, community organizations and agencies in implementing fee-based programs; cultivate relationships with new and existing partners. Schedule and administer logistics of partnerships.
  • Manage registrations, applications, invoices and deposits; develop and manage contracts and proposals with partner organizations.
  • Manage earned income budget and marketing budget as needed.
  • Manage grass-roots marketing for Camp Arena Stage and other Community Engagement programs.
  • Lead and/or assist in teaching, directing and devising with specific Voices of Now ensembles under the direction of the Director of Education.
  • Lead and/or assist with teaching Moving Stories residencies, as needed.
  • Lead, teach, assist or facilitate as needed in other Community Engagement programs, including community outreach, Camp Arena Stage, and the Arena Stage Academy.
  • Serve as general support for Community Engagement’s large public events.
  • Collaborate with other staff members on planning for the department, attend staff meetings, lesson planning sessions or trainings as needed.
  • Represent Community Engagement at internal and external meetings, as needed.


Successful candidates will have BA/BFA/BS in Theater, Education or related field or equivalent work experience and 3 years professional experience in theater/education, including teaching experience. Candidates should have excellent organizational, presentational and interpersonal skills, a proven ability to prioritize and manage program deliverable, strong research skills and experience in report preparation and analysis. Candidates should be technologically savvy, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite and database management. This position has administrative, teaching, and artistic responsibilities.
