Voices of Now Mead Ensemble Returns!
Participants meet at Arena Stage to form an ensemble of student artists, performers and writers. They work with master teaching artists to create and perform an original collage theater piece presented as part of ATLAS’s Intersections Festival in March and Arena Stage’s Voices of Now Festival in May. Voices of Now gives students an engaging and fun environment in which to write, perform and share stories that shape their lives.
The Voices of Now Mead Ensemble is a prestigious program for dedicated student artists in grades 8-11. Space is limited. Previous performance experience is not required. In addition to developing writing and performance skills, students will grow as an ensemble through the art of collaboration. Students are expected to approach the program with creativity, discipline, focus and commitment.
Facilities
Classes are held in the beautiful Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Rehearsals are held in the classroom and the final showcase is held in the 200-seat Kogod Cradle. The Ensemble will also be featured at ATLAS’s 2013 Intersections Festival in March.
